Moving Checklists
Make your next move as easy as possible
Whether you’ve recently been accepted into a Rainmaker Management Group rental home or you’re preparing to say goodbye, we want to ensure your move goes as seamlessly as possible. We often hear questions from our tenants about the process, so we’ve created the checklists below to provide a brief outline of things to expect. Please take some time to read through the information on this page and if you still have questions, get in touch with our team.
Move-in Checklist
First Month’s Rent & Security Deposit
Your first month’s rent and security deposit must be paid at the lease signing. Be sure to confirm the amounts and payment methods with us in advance.
Move-in Date & Inspection
We will schedule your initial inspection, key exchange, and other pertinent items at the lease signing.
Utilities
Remember, you’ll need to place all utility accounts for your rental home in your name. Please take care of this as quickly as possible to ensure you do not lose access to any of your utilities.
Move-out Checklist
Notice of Intent to Vacate
If you do not wish to renew your lease at the end of your stay, please provide us with written notice of your intent to vacate. This gives us time to begin making preparations for the next tenants. Remember, you are responsible for all rent through the end of the lease, regardless of whether you leave earlier than expected.
Property Condition
Before you return the keys to your rental property, take the necessary steps to bring your home back to its original rental condition.
- Rental Cleaning: Your property should be carefully cleaned, with all belongings removed from the premises. Dispose of trash, vacuum/shampoo floors, and sanitize the kitchen and bathrooms.
- Landscaping & Outdoor Areas: If your property has outdoor space where you routinely address maintenance like mowing the lawn, take care of any chores once more before you depart.
- Repairs: If any cosmetic damage occurred inside your rental during your stay, please take all possible measures to repair said damages. This includes patching holes in the walls, repainting (where necessary), and replacing broken glass.
Security Deposit
After you return your keys, we will perform a final inspection. Any damage we identify during this visit will be repaired, with costs for such repairs deducted from the deposit you paid.
Please note, your deposit cannot be used for paying your last month’s rent.
